What should a Swiss company plan before rolling out Zoho CRM?
A Swiss company should plan Zoho CRM around how it trades: customers in several language regions and abroad, quotes in francs and euros, agents and distributors in export markets, and long supplier relationships. The design also records marketing consent under Swiss data protection law, GDPR where EU contacts are involved and Swiss rules on mass advertising. I handle this remotely and independently, with your staff writing local-language text.

Swiss trading houses, industrial exporters and specialist distributors often sell into a handful of domestic language regions and many foreign markets at once. A single customer list may mix German, French and Italian speaking buyers in Switzerland with importers in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
For Zoho CRM that means customer language, currency and tax situation must be decided on the account, not guessed by each salesperson. It also means agents and distributors abroad need a defined place in the data.
I design those rules with your commercial team, remotely and in English, and leave local-language wording to your colleagues.
Swiss CRM projects usually involve languages, currencies and cross-border selling in the same design. These services cover that combination.
A customer language field that drives quote templates, email sequences and assignment, so a buyer in Lausanne or Lugano receives documents and contact in the language they use.
Price books in francs, euros and other trading currencies, with rules for which customers buy in which currency, so salespeople stop converting prices by hand.
Records for foreign agents and importers, their territories and the end customers they serve, with commission-relevant fields your finance team can report on.
Contact fields that separate Swiss, EU and other contacts, store how each agreed to marketing, and stop campaigns reaching anyone your legal advisor's rules exclude.
Quote templates that flag domestic, EU and other destinations, Incoterms and delivery terms, so the later invoice and customs paperwork start from complete data.
For trading firms that manage key suppliers as closely as customers, a vendor-side record of contacts, agreements and open negotiations alongside the sales view.

Even a modest Swiss sales team can easily cover three domestic language regions and many export countries. In practice that leads to several CRM decisions that are easy to get wrong if left to defaults.
Your colleagues fluent in each language write and check the customer-facing text, starting from English templates I prepare. I then test each template with real records from each region before go-live. The broader product view is on my Zoho CRM consultant page.
Many Swiss exporters reach foreign customers through commercial agents or importers. The agent may hold the relationship, while your company supports the technical side and ships the goods. Trading firms add another layer: key suppliers are managed as carefully as key customers, because supply access is the business.
In Zoho CRM I model these relationships explicitly:
Reports then show direct business, agent business and importer business separately, by market and currency. That separation matters when management reviews whether an agent agreement should be renewed. The Zoho consultant Switzerland page covers how the CRM sits within the wider Zoho stack.
A Swiss company's contact database is often subject to more than one set of rules. The Swiss data protection act governs personal data in Switzerland, GDPR can apply where you target or monitor people in the EU, and Swiss unfair competition rules address mass advertising by email. Your legal advisor decides how these combine for you. The CRM must then follow that decision without depending on individual judgment.
What I build in Zoho CRM:
Hosting region is a separate decision, and it is fixed when the Zoho organization is created, so settle it before anyone signs up.
Swiss quotes have to answer several questions at once: which currency, which language, whether Swiss VAT applies, and which delivery terms govern the shipment. If Zoho CRM leaves those choices to the salesperson, finance corrects them later on the invoice, often after the customer has already accepted the price.
Points I settle with finance before building templates:
When the order is confirmed, the deal moves into Zoho Books for Switzerland, where QR-bill payment parts are produced, or into your current ERP via a connector whose master data rules are written down. Payment status flows back so sales sees overdue balances before the next quote.
Zoho CRM is a sensible option for many Swiss sales teams, but not for all. I point to another route when:
If the question is broader than CRM, read how I compare platforms for Swiss ERP projects, and see the Swiss market overview, which explains the method and how remote work with Swiss teams runs. The general approach is on my CRM consulting page.
Tell me about your business and current systems. I’ll suggest the most sensible first step.

Yes. I set up a correspondence language on each account and contact, and templates are selected from that field. The wording itself belongs to fluent colleagues or a local partner; I build the structure and test that each language version fills correctly.
Zoho CRM supports multiple currencies with price books per currency. I fix the billing currency on each customer and keep separate price lists, so quotes do not depend on daily conversion. Exchange differences are handled later in the accounting system, under rules your fiduciary agrees.
That depends on where your contacts are and how you market to them, and your legal advisor decides it. Swiss data protection law, GDPR and Swiss rules on mass advertising may all be relevant. I make Zoho CRM capable of applying different rules by contact jurisdiction.
They can, with limited access through user roles or a portal, depending on the relationship and licensing. Many Swiss companies prefer agents to report through a simple form or to their regional manager. I design whichever route keeps data accurate without exposing other markets.
Every business is different. Share where you are today and what you want to fix, and I’ll tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
