How should a Swiss company set up Odoo CRM?
A Swiss company should set up Odoo CRM with sales teams for each language region and export market, price lists in francs and euros, quotations issued by the correct legal entity, and documents printed in the customer's language after native-speaker review. Orders then flow to invoices with QR-bill payment slips through the Swiss localization. Consent rules come from your legal advisor. I design this remotely and independently.

A Swiss sales team may cover German-speaking cantons, Romandie and Ticino, plus customers in Germany, France or Italy. Quotes go out in francs or euros, sometimes from a Swiss company and sometimes from an EU subsidiary. When that complexity lives in people's heads, the pipeline report hides more than it shows.
Odoo CRM keeps opportunities, quotations, orders and invoices together. I design teams, price lists, entity rules and document languages so the Odoo sales process reflects how you actually trade.
I work remotely and the engagement runs in English. French, German and Italian texts are produced or proofread by native-speaking staff or a local partner.
These services cover CRM and sales in Odoo; VAT, ledger and bank topics are on the Swiss accounting page.
Teams for each language region and export market, with lead assignment by territory or product line and shared visibility for key accounts.
Price lists in francs and euros, with rules for which customers get which list and how exchange rate changes are reflected in quotes.
Clear rules for when a quote comes from the Swiss company and when from an EU subsidiary, so tax, currency and delivery follow the right path.
Quotation and confirmation layouts that print in the customer's language, with translations owned by native-speaking colleagues or a local partner.
Lead sources, newsletter lists and opt-outs configured to follow rules your legal advisor sets under Swiss data protection law and, for EU contacts, GDPR.
A short table of CRM requirements against Community and Enterprise, with open questions sent to Odoo or the partner for written confirmation.

Quotes for actual customers
Odoo CRM is part of the same database as Sales, Inventory and Accounting. A won opportunity becomes a quotation, the quotation becomes an order, and the order drives delivery and invoicing. For a Swiss distributor, importer or producer moving its operations to Odoo, that continuity is the main reason to run the pipeline there too.
Keeping CRM in Odoo works well when:
A separate CRM can be the better answer when a group headquarters abroad prescribes its own CRM, when sales cycles involve complex account planning, or when marketing automation needs exceed what Odoo's apps provide. Then the question becomes how the CRM and Odoo exchange customers, quotes and orders, which I specify as an interface with clear ownership.
I document both options against your requirements. Zoho CRM in Switzerland is one alternative I compare, and the CRM consultant Switzerland page explains my wider approach. For CRM features in general, read my Odoo CRM consultant overview.
Swiss companies often organize sales by language region as much as by geography. A customer in Lausanne expects a French quote, one in Lugano an Italian one, and a buyer in St. Gallen a German one, while export customers may prefer English. Odoo can store the language on each contact and print documents in that language, using translated product names, descriptions and terms.
Design points I settle:
Working in English, I supply the layouts and English source texts; French, German and Italian versions are written or reviewed by native speakers in your company or by a local partner. That keeps wording natural and avoids literal translations of commercial terms.
Activity plans help regional teams follow up consistently, with the same steps whatever the language. Reporting can then compare regions fairly.
Many Swiss companies quote in both francs and euros, and some have an EU subsidiary that sells to EU customers so goods clear customs once and deliveries are simpler. Odoo handles this through price lists per currency and multi-company setup, but the rules must be explicit.
What I agree with sales and finance:
Once an order is confirmed, invoicing follows the Swiss localization: invoices in francs or euros can carry a QR-bill payment part where the localization supports it. The accounting side is covered on Odoo Accounting Switzerland, and the multi-company design on Odoo consultant Switzerland. Here I make sure quotes carry the right entity, currency and tax from the start.
Swiss companies collect contacts under the Swiss data protection act and, when they address people in the EU, often under GDPR as well. Swiss competition law also contains rules on mass advertising by email. I do not interpret these rules; your legal advisor or data protection contact sets the policy, and I configure Odoo so it is followed.
Typical setup:
Trade fairs remain an important lead source for Swiss B2B firms. I design an import routine for event leads that records the event, what the contact agreed to and the owner of follow-up.
Hosting choice is a platform decision covered on the Odoo Switzerland page; for CRM, I check that consent records and lists travel correctly if the database moves.
The CRM pipeline, quotations, price lists and customer portal acceptance have been part of Odoo Community. Odoo Sign, VoIP, lead enrichment credits and some automation features have historically sat in Enterprise or behind paid services. Because this shifts between versions, I confirm rather than assume.
Questions I put to Odoo or the partner in writing:
No Odoo partnership, license sales or commissions shape my advice. The requirement table therefore shows the leanest workable setup, whichever edition that turns out to be.
When Odoo CRM is not the right fit, for example for a regional office bound to a group CRM, I say so early. My ERP consultant Switzerland page describes how I compare platforms, and the Switzerland hub explains how remote workshops fit Swiss working hours. For sales and CRM integration in general, see ERP and CRM integration.

Yes. Odoo stores a language on each contact and prints documents in it, using translated product names, descriptions and terms. The engagement runs in English; layouts and source texts come from me, and native speakers in your company or a local partner write or review each language version.
Yes. With multi-company setup, sales teams can quote from the Swiss entity or the EU entity, each with its own currency, taxes and documents. I define rules for which entity quotes which customers and test that orders and invoices follow the right path.
Odoo supports price lists per currency, either maintained separately or derived through rules. I help you choose between control and maintenance effort, agree how exchange rate changes are handled, and test quotes in both currencies through to invoicing.
Not necessarily. Pipeline, quotations and price lists exist in Community, whereas signing, calling and parts of marketing have historically depended on Enterprise or paid services. Confirm with Odoo or the partner for your version. I list each requirement against both editions.
Every business is different. Share where you are today and what you want to fix, and I’ll tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
