How can an ERP consultant help a Hyderabad business?
In Hyderabad, an ERP consultant serves two very different sectors. Bulk drug and intermediate makers need multi-stage process costing, solvent recovery, yield tracking and a validation-ready design, while contract research firms need project billing. IT services companies and global capability centers need cost recharges to a parent, and developers need project books. I separate genuine requirements from demo features and deliver the work remotely in IST.

I work remotely with businesses in Hyderabad, a city whose economy rests on two very different pillars. One is pharmaceuticals and life sciences: bulk drug and intermediate plants in the industrial belts around the city, formulation units, contract research and manufacturing firms, and biotech companies. The other is technology: IT services companies and the many global capability centers that multinationals run from the city's tech corridors.
Add a busy real estate sector building homes and offices for that workforce, and you get ERP requirements that range from validated batch records to cost-plus billing to an overseas parent. I help you separate what your business really needs from what a vendor demo shows.
Hyderabad projects split early into process manufacturing, project-based science and technology services, and each path needs its own design questions.
I map multi-step synthesis from raw materials through intermediates to the finished active ingredient, including stage-wise yields, recovered solvents, by-products and rework, so the costing reflects the chemistry rather than a flat standard.
Regulated plants must show their computerized systems are fit for use. I write requirements and test scripts that can feed your quality team's validation work, and keep GxP-relevant functions clearly separated from the rest.
For research and development service firms, I design project structures that track scientist time, lab consumables, analytical work and milestone or full-time-equivalent billing per sponsor, with confidentiality between client projects.
For centers that serve a foreign parent, I design cost center hierarchies, allocation keys and the monthly recharge invoice, with reporting that lines up with the group's own chart of accounts.
For residential and commercial developers, I scope project-wise budgets, contractor billing against work done, unit sales and buyer collections, keeping each project's records distinct as regulation expects.
I compare platforms on the scenarios that matter to you, from batch genealogy to recharge invoicing, and give a written recommendation without any vendor relationship shaping it.
Business first, technology second. You can hire me for one step - a BRD, a gap analysis, a vendor shortlist - or for the whole journey.

Hyderabad combines heavy process manufacturing and large technology campuses within one metropolitan area. On one side are bulk drug and intermediate manufacturers, formulation plants, biotech firms in the dedicated life sciences clusters, and the contract research and manufacturing companies that serve global pharma customers. On the other are IT services firms and global capability centers in HITEC City, Gachibowli and the surrounding corridors.
These two worlds need almost opposite things from a system. A drug plant cares about material, batches, yields, quality status and a defensible audit trail. A technology or capability center cares about people, projects, cost allocation and how charges reach a parent company abroad. Trying to judge an ERP for both with one generic checklist leads to poor choices.
So the first thing I do is place your business on that map. Then I build the requirement list from your actual flows, not from a template, and use it to evaluate platforms. The national context of GST, e-invoicing and e-way bills applies to both and is covered on my India ERP consultant page, so this page stays with the needs specific to Hyderabad's industries.
Active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing is a multi-stage chemical process. Raw materials and solvents go into a reactor, an intermediate is isolated, tested and used in the next stage, and only after several stages does the final product emerge. Along the way, solvents are recovered and reused, by-products may be sold, and some batches are reworked or reprocessed.
A generic manufacturing setup often gets this wrong. The ERP design should handle:
Quality status matters at every step: material under test, released, rejected or on hold must never be issued by mistake. My pharmaceutical industry page explains the broader requirements, and I translate them into scripted scenarios that each shortlisted platform must run through during ERP evaluation.
Many Hyderabad plants supply regulated export markets, which means inspections by regulators and audits by customers. These reviews increasingly look at computerized systems: who can change what, whether records have a reliable audit trail, and whether the system was shown to work as intended before use.
Computer system validation is a quality discipline with its own specialists and procedures, and I do not replace your quality unit. My role is to ensure the ERP project produces the inputs validation needs and avoids the mistakes that make it harder:
Getting this right at requirement stage costs far less than retrofitting it after an inspection finding. I run this through my ERP testing and UAT service, coordinating with your quality team and any validation consultant you appoint.
For Hyderabad's capability centers, the parent company usually dictates the global ERP, and the local team inherits it. The work that remains local is still significant: cost center design that reflects how the center is actually organized, allocation keys for shared floors, facilities and support teams, and the periodic service invoice to the parent, usually on a basis your tax advisors agree. I help local finance teams specify these needs clearly so group IT can deliver them, rather than living with workarounds in spreadsheets.
Mid-sized IT services companies that do choose their own system face a different decision: whether a full ERP, a professional services automation tool or a combination best handles projects, timesheets, utilization and billing. My IT services industry page sets out that trade-off.
Real estate developers building offices and housing around the tech corridors need project-wise budgets, contractor measurement and billing, purchase control for materials and a clean link between unit sales and collections. Projects registered with the state real estate authority also need their own records and periodic updates, which your advisors define. I design the project and cost structure so those obligations are easy to meet. See my real estate page for the process view.
I am India-based, so Hyderabad teams and I share the same working day. Workshops fit around shift changes at a plant or sprint ceremonies in a tech team, and follow-up questions get answered while the topic is fresh.
For plants, I ask for process flow diagrams, batch manufacturing record templates, costing sheets and existing SOPs, then hold short sessions with production, quality, stores and finance. For technology firms, I review cost center lists, recharge workings and group reporting templates. In every case, outputs are written: process maps, a numbered requirement document, a fit-gap matrix and a decision log.
All of this is delivered online. If a plant walkthrough or a steering meeting with the leadership team would be more effective in person, we can plan it by arrangement, but the project does not depend on it. My India page describes the rest of my work in the country, and you can reach me here to talk through a plant, lab or tech center project.

Not sure which ERP you need?
Share your business requirements with me and I will help you understand the right process, architecture and platform before implementation.
Some can, with careful configuration, and others struggle with stage-wise yields, solvent recovery and by-product valuation. I build scripted scenarios from one of your real products and run them in each shortlisted platform, so you see the gaps before signing rather than after go-live.
No. Validation belongs to your quality unit and any specialist you appoint. I make sure the ERP project supports it, with a numbered user requirement specification, a clear boundary for GxP-relevant functions, sensible roles and test scripts designed to capture evidence.
By helping your local finance and operations team define what the center needs: cost center structure, allocation rules, the recharge invoice process and statutory reporting. I document those requirements and the gaps in the current setup so group IT can act on them with a clear brief.
I work remotely with businesses in Hyderabad as an independent, India-based consultant in the same time zone. Sessions run over video with shared documents. An in-person plant walkthrough or leadership meeting can be planned by arrangement, but the engagement is designed to work fully online.
Every business is different. Share where you are today and what you want to fix, and I’ll tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
