How can an Iraqi company use Zoho Desk for customer support?
An Iraqi company can use Zoho Desk to turn calls, messaging apps, email and web forms into tickets with owners and deadlines. A consultant designs routing by language and region, business hours and holiday calendars for federal Iraq and Kurdistan Region teams, warranty queues linked to serial numbers, Arabic and Kurdish replies checked by native speakers, ticket data access and connections to Zoho CRM and Books. I advise on all of this remotely and independently.

In many Iraqi companies, support means a customer calling the salesman who sold the generator, a client's site engineer messaging a project manager late in the evening, or a shop owner turning up at the branch with a faulty part. The request gets handled, or it does not, and nobody can show a client, a supplier or a manager what was promised, when and by whom.
I work remotely with businesses in Iraq as an independent Zoho Desk consultant. Zoho is neither my employer nor my partner, and licenses earn me nothing. The engagement runs in English. I work out channels, routing, targets and reporting, then configure them alongside your administrator or review an implementer's build; bilingual colleagues draft and check the Arabic and Kurdish replies your customers receive.
The aim is that every request, however it arrives, has an owner, a deadline and a history a client or manager can check.
I list where requests arrive today, from personal phones and messaging apps to email, branch visits and client portals, and check with Zoho or the partner which of them Desk can connect for Iraq, and through which providers.
I add language and region fields so Arabic, Kurdish and English requests from federal Iraq or the Kurdistan Region reach agents who can resolve them, with a fallback when the right person is away.
Working hours and holiday calendars per team come from your HR list; I then set response and resolution targets per customer tier, including the terms written into contracts with international clients.
I design after-sales queues linked to the serial number, sale date and warranty terms of each unit, so an agent sees within one screen whether a repair is covered before promising anything.
I define when a ticket becomes a technician visit, which tool schedules it, how parts used are recorded in stock and billing, and how the outcome returns to the ticket for the customer.
Desk is linked to Zoho CRM accounts and Zoho Books invoices, so agents answer account and billing questions in dinars or dollars, and account managers walk into client meetings knowing what is unresolved.

Move customers to official channels
Support in Iraq covers very different customers. An equipment importer handles warranty claims on generators, cooling units and tools from shops and households. An oil and gas service company answers formal requests from an operator's site engineers, often with a contract reference and a deadline. A distributor fields complaints about deliveries, prices and damaged goods from retailers. A software or telecom services company handles account and connection questions.
What they share is that requests arrive by phone and messaging apps first, email second, and in person at a branch. Zoho Desk is designed to gather multiple channels in a single queue, though what works from Iraq on your plan needs checking:
Requests to salesmen's personal phones are the hardest habit to change. The rule I propose: anything reaching a personal phone becomes a ticket before the day ends, and the official numbers are printed on invoices, warranty cards and delivery notes. The Iraq CRM consultant page covers the wider customer data picture.
An Iraqi company with customers in Baghdad, Basra, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah will receive requests in Arabic, Kurdish and English, and the right agent is often defined by both language and region. A ticket about a unit sold by the Kurdistan Region company should reach that company's team, in the language the customer wrote in.
Reply templates for common questions exist in each language your customers use. As the engagement runs in English, bilingual colleagues or a local partner draft and review each Arabic and Kurdish template before the support lead signs it off. Testing uses genuine tickets, including messages that mix Arabic or Kurdish with Latin model numbers, since that is where right-to-left layouts break. Contact names need one agreed primary spelling for search, aligned with Zoho CRM in Iraq.
A service level is only fair if the clock follows the real working calendar. Iraqi companies set their own working weeks, and public holidays can differ between federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as between your own entities. I load business hours and holiday calendars per team from the list your HR department maintains each year, rather than from any default, so tickets do not breach on a day the office was officially closed.
Targets then follow commitments:
Connectivity and power interruptions affect agents too. When an agent's line drops, assigned tickets must not sit silently: agents mark themselves unavailable where possible, tickets left untouched past an agreed age move to a colleague, and agents try the mobile app on their own phones as a fallback. A backup connection at the main support location protects contract SLAs. The system integration page discusses resilience on the interface side.
For importers of generators, cooling equipment, medical devices or tools, after-sales is where customer trust is won or lost. The agent's first question is always the same: is this unit covered? Answering it quickly requires the serial number, sale date, customer and warranty terms to be in one place.
Field visits are a boundary. Zoho Desk is a service desk, not a dispatch tool. When a ticket needs a technician on site, scheduling, travel and parts usage sit in a field service app, a Creator app such as those described on Zoho Creator in Iraq, or an ERP service module. Check which Zoho field service options are available for Iraq on your plan. I define the handoff: what the ticket passes to the visit, how parts reach stock and billing, and how the outcome returns to the ticket so the customer hears one consistent story.
Tickets accumulate personal and confidential data: customer names and phone numbers, addresses, photos of equipment at a home or site, and documents from clients with confidentiality terms. Your legal advisor decides how Iraqi rules and client contracts bear on that data. I make sure the configuration can carry out what they decide:
Connections to the rest of the business come next. With Zoho One in Iraq or individual apps, Desk links to Zoho CRM so account managers see open issues before meetings, and to Zoho Books so agents can read invoices and payments in dinars or dollars when a customer disputes a balance. Agents read; finance corrects. Reports stay short: open tickets by age, language and region, SLA breaches per client, repeat faults per product model. Those repeat-fault reports often matter most to an importer, because they feed supplier claims and buying decisions. Wider platform questions are covered on the Iraq ERP consultant page, and the Iraq hub lists the other remote work I do there.
Tell me about your business and current systems. I’ll suggest the most sensible first step.

Zoho Desk connects channels through telephony and messaging integrations, but which providers support Iraqi numbers and which messaging apps are available varies with plan and region, so get confirmation from Zoho, the partner or the provider before publicizing a channel. I start from the channels customers use today and plan each one's path into Desk.
Yes. Each ticket carries language and region fields that steer assignment, with backup agents for absences. Because the engagement runs in English, bilingual colleagues or a local partner draft and review the Arabic and Kurdish templates, and I trial them on genuine tickets before launch.
Each team gets its own business hours and holiday calendar, loaded from the list your HR department maintains, so SLA clocks pause on the days that team is closed. I review the calendars with HR each year so new or changed holidays do not cause false breaches.
Desk is a service desk rather than a dispatch tool. Visits, travel and parts usage are better handled in a field service app, a Creator app or an ERP service module, linked to the ticket. Check which Zoho field service options are available for Iraq, and I design the handoff between them.
