How does SEO work differently for companies in Poland?
SEO in Poland has to follow Polish grammar and typing habits rather than English-style keyword lists. My remote work groups inflected keyword forms and diacritic-free spellings by intent, sets up .pl or export structures with hreflang, handles local SEO by city, fixes technical issues on store and catalog sites, plans B2B content that competes with marketplaces and checks AI answers, measured through CRM inquiries.

Polish is a demanding language for keyword research. Nouns and place names change form with grammatical case, so the same idea appears in many versions, and people regularly type without the diacritics that correct spelling requires. A strategy built on one fixed keyword per page, copied from tools designed for English, misses much of how Polish buyers actually search.
I work remotely with companies in Poland as an independent SEO consultant, covering Polish keyword research, site structure for domestic and export markets, local SEO across Polish cities, technical audits, B2B content planning and how AI-generated answers present your business.
The engagement runs in English. I deliver research, structure and briefs; Polish copy comes from native writers on your payroll or at an agency you choose, and export-language pages are handled the same way.
Planned around Polish grammar and spelling habits, strong domestic marketplaces and export growth into Germany and beyond.
Research that groups inflected forms and diacritic-free spellings under one intent, so each page targets a real topic rather than a single rigid phrase.
Choosing a .pl domain or an international one with language folders, then hreflang for pl-PL alongside German, English or Czech versions where you sell.
A Google listing per qualifying branch, the same company data across Polish directories and maps, city pages only where you operate, and honest review requests.
Crawling, indexing, Polish characters in URLs, duplicate category pages, structured data and mobile speed audited, each problem written up as a ticket for your developer.
Topic maps and briefs for the questions Polish buyers, engineers and procurement teams ask, competing on substance with marketplaces and lead platforms.
Polish and export-language AI answers reviewed for accuracy about your firm, plus reporting from Search Console, analytics and the CRM that is open about consent gaps.

Polish grammar changes word endings depending on their role in a sentence. Someone who needs a bookkeeper in Kraków may type the city in its base form, or in the locative, as in w Krakowie, and the service noun may also change form. Search engines understand many of these variations, but not perfectly, and keyword tools often list each form separately with its own volume. Treating every variant as a separate target leads to thin, repetitive pages.
Diacritics add another layer. Polish uses letters such as ą, ę, ł, ó, ś, ź, ż, ć and ń, yet many people search without them, especially on mobile, typing lodz instead of Łódź or ksiegowa instead of księgowa. Results for the two spellings can differ.
My research for Poland therefore:
The page copy itself must be written by native Polish writers. Forcing awkward, uninflected phrases into text to match a tool reads badly and does not help. This business-first logic follows my wider SEO consulting method.
Polish manufacturers and service firms increasingly sell into Germany, the Czech Republic, Scandinavia and wider Europe. The site structure should reflect that plan:
Each export version should come from keyword research in that market. German buyers search with their own terms and expect German-language specifications, delivery terms and contact options. A page translated from Polish without that research rarely competes with local German suppliers. Native writers for each language adapt the content from my briefs.
Technically, my international SEO setup covers hreflang for pl-PL and each export version, return links, x-default, language switchers that lead to the equivalent page and avoiding automatic IP redirects. I also check how Polish characters are handled in URLs; many sites transliterate them to plain letters for readability and consistent sharing, and whichever choice is made should be applied consistently. When restructuring requires URL changes, the SEO migration method covers redirect maps and post-launch checks.
Dental practices, car repair shops, HVAC installers, wholesalers with a pickup point and law firms all depend heavily on the map results near the customer. People in Poland often search by city or district, and in larger cities by neighborhood. Results in Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań and Gdańsk can look quite different for the same service.
My local SEO work in Poland includes:
For chains and franchise networks, the multi-location local SEO approach sets out how listings and pages are managed consistently across many sites.
Polish results for many commercial queries are crowded with large marketplaces, comparison sites and lead platforms that collect inquiries and pass them to suppliers. For product queries a marketplace such as Allegro often appears prominently. A company website rarely beats these on broad terms, but it can win on specific, high-intent searches where buyers want a direct supplier with real expertise.
That calls for content with substance: service and product pages with clear specifications, application guides, answers to procurement questions about lead times, standards and support, and pages addressing objections your sales team hears. Briefs specify who the page is for, which doubts it must remove and where it should send the reader. Published consistently, such pages add up to topical authority that a marketplace listing cannot match.
Underneath, technical SEO keeps the site healthy. Typical checks on Polish sites include:
Each finding becomes a ticket with acceptance criteria, so your developer or agency can fix it and confirm the result.
Many Polish queries now get a direct, machine-written answer from Google, ChatGPT, Copilot or Perplexity. I look at what these answers say about your firm for priority questions in Polish and in your export languages, then correct missing or inconsistent information on your site, company profiles and directory entries so accurate facts are available. How AI systems select sources is outside anyone's control, so the work is monitored and refined rather than guaranteed. My AI search optimization service describes the steps in more detail.
Measurement in Poland follows GDPR and the guidance of the Polish data protection authority on consent for tracking. Every visitor who refuses tracking disappears from analytics, which therefore understates visits and leads. Your lawyer or data protection officer decides the consent setup; I configure tracking accordingly and say clearly what can and cannot be measured.
Reports combine Search Console data per language version, analytics key events and CRM records of inquiries and opportunities by source, market and topic. Rankings are tracked as a signal, never promised. Where search is part of wider modernization, my digital transformation work in Poland ties the website into the CRM and ERP roadmap. All work is delivered remotely, and the Poland overview lists the rest of what I offer.
Tell me about your business and current systems. I’ll suggest the most sensible first step.

No. Inflected forms and diacritic-free spellings usually express the same intent, so they belong on one page written in natural Polish. Separate pages for each variant create thin, repetitive content. Research groups the variants, and native writers use the main forms where they read naturally.
Both approaches can work. Many sites transliterate Polish letters to plain ones in URLs for readability and easier sharing, while keeping correct diacritics in titles and text. The important thing is consistency, and avoiding changes to existing URLs without a proper redirect plan.
Usually not on broad terms, but often on specific, high-intent searches where buyers want a direct supplier. Detailed product and service pages, clear specifications and answers to procurement questions help. Many companies use marketplaces and their own site together, measuring which brings better inquiries.
If Germany is a priority market, yes. German buyers search in German with their own terminology and expect local details. Those pages should be based on German keyword research and written by native German writers, with hreflang linking them to the Polish and English versions.
