Why use an independent Dynamics 365 consultant in Sweden?
An independent Dynamics 365 consultant in Sweden represents the buyer while a firm from Microsoft's partner network sells and builds the system. I write the requirements partners quote against, check what the Swedish Business Central localization and extra apps really cover, review the proposal for gaps around SIE files, Peppol and bank formats, and test the Nordic intercompany setup. I hold no Microsoft partner status, sell no licenses and work remotely.

In Sweden, Dynamics 365 is bought through Microsoft's partner channel. The partner who demonstrates the system usually also licenses it, implements it and supports it afterwards. That model works, but it leaves the buyer comparing proposals written by the people who will profit from them.
I sit on the other side of that conversation. Swedish groups, owner-led manufacturers and subsidiaries of foreign parents bring me in to define what they need, test the localization claims and keep scope honest through delivery. Microsoft has no stake in my advice, subscriptions are not something I sell, and all of it is delivered remotely in English.
Partners deliver the system. I help Swedish buyers specify it, choose the right partner and accept only what was agreed.
I compare your scale, entity count and process complexity against Business Central and the larger Finance and Operations apps, so the product tier follows from evidence rather than from a partner's specialty.
I help you approach several partners, give them the same requirements and scenario scripts, and score their demonstrations on Swedish month-end, intercompany and invoicing cases using your own data.
I check each proposal for the apps it adds on top of the base localization, the custom extensions it assumes, data migration scope, testing responsibility and what support costs depend on after go-live.
For Swedish parents with subsidiaries in neighboring countries, I design company setup, dimensions, intercompany postings and consolidation so each entity meets local rules while group reporting stays consistent.
Companies still on an older on-premise Microsoft ERP need to decide between upgrading their customizations and starting cleaner. I list every modification, test whether standard features now cover it and plan the migration.
I write UAT scripts from your Swedish scenarios, run them with your key users, log defects against the agreed design and advise whether the system is ready for go-live.

Keep delivery aligned
Dynamics 365 makes most sense in Sweden for companies whose finance needs are heavier than their size suggests. Typical examples are a Swedish parent with sales companies across the Nordics and Germany, an industrial supplier with project accounting and service contracts, or the Swedish unit of an international group that already standardizes on Microsoft tools for identity, email, collaboration and reporting.
For most of these, Business Central is the realistic starting point: finance, purchasing, sales, inventory, projects, service and lighter manufacturing in one application, extended through apps. The Finance and Operations applications are aimed at larger and more complex organizations and bring correspondingly larger programs. I help you work out which tier your processes actually call for, because partners naturally propose the product they deliver best.
Close links to Power BI, Excel, Outlook and Teams are a genuine strength when your people already work in those tools. They matter less if your company runs on Google tools or a mix of SaaS products. I ask that question early, alongside the usual business ones: how many entities, which currencies, how projects are costed, how stock moves and what the board expects to see each month. The answers decide whether Dynamics belongs on your shortlist at all.
Business Central is offered with a Swedish localization, which normally covers country-specific accounting and tax features. What it includes depends on the version and on which apps a partner adds, so I treat localization as something to prove rather than something to accept. Check your version and the app list in every proposal.
These are the Swedish items I ask partners to demonstrate with your data:
Each of these extras is typically a separate app with its own vendor, license terms and update cycle. I list them in a single register showing who maintains what, so the total running cost and dependency picture are visible before you sign. Your accountant interprets the tax rules, and I make the system and its add-ons follow their rules.
Swedish companies are often the hub of a small Nordic group. Business Central can run several companies in one environment, each with its own localization and currency, and offers intercompany features that create matching documents between entities. The design work lies in the details: which master data is shared, how dimensions are defined so group reports compare like with like, what price one entity charges another and how results in each currency roll up for the group.
I document these rules in a short group finance design, agree it with your CFO and auditor, and turn it into test cases. Intercompany flows are tested end to end, including corrections and month-end eliminations, because that is where group setups most often fail. The general pattern for running several legal entities is set out on my multi-company ERP page.
Migration sources in Sweden vary. Some companies leave a local accounting package that has served them since start-up, others leave a heavily customized older Microsoft ERP running on their own servers, and others consolidate several systems inherited through acquisitions. Each needs a decision on history: how many years of transactions to carry, what stays in an archive and how to reconcile opening balances. GDPR applies throughout, so I also check where your tenant's data is stored and who at the partner can access it. The ERP data migration service explains the approach.
Dynamics is a capable platform, but in Sweden I advise against it in several situations:
Because I hold no Microsoft partnership and earn nothing from licenses, I can say this plainly and put Dynamics on the same scoring sheet as the alternatives. If it wins, I help you choose and manage the right partner. See my ERP consultant Sweden page for the selection approach, the Sweden hub for market notes and the Dynamics 365 consulting page for how I work with the platform generally.
Tell me about your business and current systems. I’ll suggest the most sensible first step.

Not sure which ERP you need?
Share your business requirements with me and I will help you understand the right process, architecture and platform before implementation.
No. I hold no Microsoft partnership, take no reseller margin on subscriptions and accept nothing from implementing firms. Swedish companies use me alongside the implementing firm, so that requirements, proposal reviews and acceptance testing are handled by someone whose only interest is the buyer's outcome.
Business Central is offered with a Swedish localization, but its coverage depends on version, and items such as SIE-style files, Peppol sending and bank formats often come from additional apps. I have partners demonstrate each Swedish requirement with your data, and your accountant confirms the results before you sign.
Yes. I prepare a requirements document and scenario scripts, help you invite several partners, score their demonstrations consistently and review their proposals for scope gaps and hidden assumptions. You choose the partner; I make sure the comparison is fair and documented.
It depends on how much of your customization still reflects how the business works. I review every modification with the people who use it, check whether current standard features cover it, and give you a written comparison of an upgrade path and a cleaner reimplementation, including the data and testing effort each involves.
Every business is different. Share where you are today and what you want to fix, and I’ll tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
