What does a Zoho Analytics consultant do for an Italian company?
For an Italian company, a Zoho Analytics consultant builds management reporting that joins the Italian accounting or ERP system with Zoho CRM, agent sales, export markets and spreadsheets: reclassified income statements, margin by agent and country, budget versus actual and group views. I define the figures with your controller and commercialista first, then build dashboards remotely and independently, with access limited by role.

In a typical Italian SME the owner sees one figure from the accountant, another from the sales manager's spreadsheet and a third from the bank's request for a reclassified income statement. Each is right on its own terms, and none of them agree.
Zoho Analytics can bring those sources into one model and publish dashboards that everyone reads the same way. The hard part is not the charts. It is agreeing what revenue, margin and order intake mean in your company, and which system is the source for each.
I lead that work remotely and independently, without any Zoho commission, and with your controller or commercialista confirming the accounting logic.
Every engagement begins with the questions the owner, the board or the bank keeps asking, then works back to the data.
A short written dictionary of each figure, its formula, its source system and its owner, agreed with your controller before any dashboard is built, so disputes are settled on paper first.
Scheduled imports from your Italian accounting package or ERP by database connection, export files or API, with the chart of accounts mapped to management reporting lines.
Income statement and balance sheet reclassified in the formats your bank or board expects, refreshed from the ledger rather than rebuilt in a spreadsheet each quarter.
Sales, margin and receivables by agent, zone and country, joining Zoho CRM orders with invoiced figures, so commission talks and market reviews use the same base.
A management view across the holding and operating companies, with intercompany flows flagged and foreign subsidiaries translated at the rates your controller provides.
Row-level rules so an agent sees only their zone, a plant manager only their site and the board everything, with sharing tested before invites go out.
Questions, figures and owners
Data joined and reconciled
Owned by your team
The ledger in an Italian company usually lives in a domestic accounting package or ERP, sometimes hosted by the commercialista rather than the company itself. That matters for reporting, because the first question is not which chart to draw but whether you can reach the data at all, and how often.
Before designing anything in Zoho Analytics I check the realistic routes with whoever controls the system:
Each route has a different freshness, and I write it on the dashboard so nobody mistakes last month's ledger for today's position. Confirm with Zoho or the partner which connectors are available for your specific software, since support differs by product and edition. If extraction is the real problem, my system integration work in Italy covers it in more depth.
Italian SMEs often talk to their banks through a reclassified income statement and balance sheet: value added, EBITDA, net financial position and similar measures, laid out in a format the bank's analyst recognizes. These are usually prepared by the commercialista in a spreadsheet, once or twice a year, long after the figures could have changed a decision.
Zoho Analytics can produce the same views monthly from the ledger, if the mapping is done carefully:
The reclassification scheme itself, and any figures shared with lenders, are your commercialista's responsibility. My role is to make their scheme repeatable without copy and paste. This is the same discipline described in management dashboards, applied to the way Italian companies report to banks and boards.
Italian manufacturers and wholesalers frequently sell through agents in Italy and importers or distributors abroad. Management wants to know which agents and markets bring margin, not just turnover, and agents want to trust the figures that determine their commission.
That requires joining several sources that were never designed to meet:
I agree the matching keys first: customer codes, item codes and agent identifiers that are the same in every system, or a mapping table where they are not. Without that step, dashboards look convincing and quietly double count. Foreign markets add currency: sales in other currencies are shown both in the original currency and in euros, translated at a rate source your controller chooses.
Commission calculation itself usually stays in the system that pays it. Zoho Analytics shows the basis transparently, so discussions with agents start from the same report.
Italian family businesses are often organized as a holding company with several operating companies, sometimes with a commercial branch abroad. Each keeps its own books, and the family wants one view. A statutory consolidation is the accountant's job, but a management view across companies is something Zoho Analytics can provide.
I design that view with a few safeguards:
Access rules also matter for agents, plant managers and external advisors. I test each role with a dummy user before anyone is invited, because a shared dashboard that shows the wrong rows is a GDPR problem as well as an embarrassment.
Ask Zoho which data center region will store your workspace and how backups are handled, and record the answer with your privacy documentation. Your data protection lead decides whether personal data, such as named customer contacts, should be loaded at all or kept aggregated.
A dashboard shows the state of the underlying data. If invoices are posted late, items are coded inconsistently or the CRM is half filled, Zoho Analytics will display that problem clearly but will not solve it. I tell you early when the work needed is process cleanup, not reporting, and that may be the more valuable finding.
Other cases where I would suggest something else:
For the wider Zoho context see Zoho in Italy, the Italy overview and remote ERP advice for Italian firms. Delivery is remote, the engagement runs in English, and Italian dashboard labels are proofread by native speakers inside your company.
Tell me about your business and current systems. I’ll suggest the most sensible first step.

It depends on the specific package and how it is hosted. Some allow database or API access, others only file exports, and books held by the commercialista may arrive as periodic extracts. I check the realistic route with whoever controls the system and confirm connector availability with Zoho or the partner before promising a refresh schedule.
It can produce a management version from the ledger every month, using a mapping table your commercialista or controller owns. Figures shared formally with lenders remain their responsibility. The benefit is that the same view is available between year-ends, so you see trends before the bank asks.
Yes. Row-level rules in Zoho Analytics restrict each user to the zone, agent code or company you define. Before any real person is invited, I log in as a test user for each role and check what it can see, since an agent viewing a colleague's zone is both a commercial and a privacy problem.
If your operational data already sits in Zoho apps and you want one vendor, Zoho Analytics is a natural fit. If your group has standardized on Microsoft and has people who maintain Power BI, adding another tool may fragment reporting. I compare both against your sources and the team who will own the dashboards.
Every business is different. Share where you are today and what you want to fix, and I’ll tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
